WordPress is the most favorite platform (Content management system) for creation of website, blog or e-shop. As a new user you may be surprised, how easy the process of installation is. We will show you, how to install WordPress via our installer in few clicks.
No matter if your are a beginner or you create websites often for yourself or for your clients, the process of installation is tiresome. You need to go the whole process of installation, change the settings according to your needs, install preferred theme and plugins and that all takes a lot of time.
Navigation to the WordPress installation
- Log in to the WebAdmin
- On the main screen go to Services section and select your domain in the list
- Select in the left menu CMS
Running installer
From the offer select the version of WordPress you want to install. Websupport edition or newest clean WordPress.
On the installer screen you will see the form for entering basic details about your website and admin account details.
Address – Installation location
Line for address serves for choosing where the WordPress will be insalled. As you can se on the screen above, this line contains 2 fields where that you can edit.
Installing on your domain or subdomain?
If you want to install WordPress on the main domain, keep the default setting. In the other case (installing on the subdomain), read bellow.
| Subdomain | First, prefilled field serves for installation to a subdomain. If you rewrite “www” to e.g. “wordpress”, the users will have to enter an address “wordpress.yourdomain.tld” to see your page |
| Subdirectory | Second field is for installing to subdirectory of the main domain. If you fill this field with “wordpress” the user will have to enter “yourdomain.tld/wordpress” to display your site |
| Combined | You can install the WordPress to a subdirectory of a subdomain: e.g. “dev.yourdomain.tld/webname” |
Web details and administrator
- Website name – marketing name of your website. It will be displayed in the title of the browser and it is important of SEO
- E-mail – contact e-mail address for WordPress administrator, where WordPress will send you important notification or password reset
- Login – your login that you will use to get to the WordPress
- Password– Password for your WordPress login. You will enter it twice. We recommend to enter at least 8 characters containing both lower and upper cas, numbers or even special symbols (but not diacritics)
- Language– language of the WordPress. Available are SK, EN, CZ, HU
Installation is completed by selecting Install button. And done! You have your WordPress on the address you entered.
Fresh WordPress installation is available by entering your domain name to the browser, when the WordPress main page appears. If the domain does not points to the hosting yet, it is necessary to to access it with the help of hosts file (odkaz na testování webu na novém hostingu).
Administration
To the WordPress administration you can log in on the address yourdomain.tld/wp-admin , e.g. if you have a domain example.com, you will find it at example.com/wp-login.php. How does the administration interface look can be found in this guide (link to “WordPress administration interface” article) .
