Simplified configuration of e-mail applications

All mailboxes created by webhosting support the simplified configuration of e-mail applications. If your application also supports it, you can simply enter your e-mail address with the corresponding password. Other parameters like mail server address will be checked by the application automatically.

Simplified configuration

  1. In the setting of your mail application locate the option to “Add new account”. Most of the application offers this option automatically during first run.
  2. Enter your e-mail address and then your password.
  3. Save the settings.

Inbuilt e-mail application on Apple devices have limited support only from specific providers like Google or Microsoft. Instead of only e-mail address and password, you will be required to enter several other parameters like our mail servers. You can find them below.

How does the simplified configuration works?

Simplified configuration uses function AutoConfig and Autodiscover. For correct function you need to have two CNAME DNS records. The are set by default for every hosting:

  1. autoconfig.domena.tld, for example: autoconfig.websupport.sk
  2. autodiscover.domena.tld, for example: autodiscover.websupport.sk
DNS records are required for correct function of Autoconfig and Autodiscover features

Manual configuration

If your application does not support the simplified configuration of e-mails via Autoconfig and Autodiscover DNS records, you will need these parameters as well:

  • Server of incoming mails: imap.websupport.cz (secured port: 993, SSL connection)
  • Server of outgoing mails: smtp.websupport.cz (secured port: 465, SSL connection)
