Spam sent from your own e-mail address

In regards to antispam protection all sent messages are always check with our antispam filter. If the message is showing spam characteristics, the e-mail is blocked and the sender is notified and asked to edit the message to the appropriate form. This works especially in e-mail clients in real time.


If our system registers that there were multiple attempts to send messages marked as spam, it may lead to blocking the ability to send any e-mails from your mailbox – the user is notified about the blocking. This is a case mostly for automated solutions for sending e-mails which are capable of sending one e-mail to dozens of recipients in a fraction of a second.

If you have been notified that a large amount of SPAM was sent from your e-mail account, in most of the cases it is one of the following problems:

1. Your mailboxes has been hacked

Attackers are always looking for poorly protected systems which can be misused for their intention. This concerns your website, mailboxes and even the devices in your home or work.

We would recommend to do the following:

  • check and clean your website
  • update your login credentials to your e-mails (change the password) – always use long password with special characters, lower and upper case letters and numbers (you can use Password manager)
  • set GEOIP protection for your mailboxes
  • check the devices that have access to the e-mails for viruses – e.g. your laptop or PC.

These steps should be done periodically to prevent the attacks, password changes are recommended to do every 3 – 6 months. You can use any application so called password managers to help you with that.

2. Wrong format or syntax of an Email / Newsletter, you tried to send

Sometimes it is possible that a legitimate message or newsletter is marked as spam. Our spam filter registers only the content therefore the message was marked as spam based on the Subject or body of the message and blocked message has to be checked and modified to acceptable form so it could be send successfully.
