Some websites or server configurations require specific type of SSL. Before you purchase a SSL certificate there are few factors that need to be considered based on your website and how many domains you want to secure or if you want to install SSL certificate by yourself.
If it is a personal website, we would recommend to use Let’s Encrypt certificate, which is free for all our hosting solutions. If it is a business website, eshop or website with registration, we would recommend to use Standard SSL certificate. For protecting all subdomains use the Wildcard certificate.
Standard SSL certificate
The difference between EV and standard SSL certificate is that the Standard certificate does not offer any confirmation that there is an existing company behind the certificate. The URL address in the browser is the same as for vast majority of websites – it contains only the information about secured connection. There is no verification during the issuing process and the prise is very low, but it also gains credibility from the visitor.
About the security, both of the certificates provide the same level of encryption. The difference is in the credibility that EV certificate induces. Thanks to the thorough process of verification of the certificate owner it allows to add a green field to the website URL. That has been shown in many studies to increase the number of conversions and purchases.
This certificate can be issued only for 1 domain (but for both www and non-www version of the domain).
Wildcard
It is a universal type of SSL certificate that allows you to secure all subdomains under your domain. If you need a certificate for all subdomains (3rd level domains), you need a Wildcard certificate.

Let’s Encrypt
Let’s Encrypt certificates are basic, free certificates to simple securing of your website on HTTPS address, SSL certificates Let’s Encrypt can be created, installed right from the online interface WebAdmin. They are available for all our shared hostings. Successful creation and renewal of the certificate on our servers requires an A record on the domain to be pointed at our hosting.
